Saddle/Driving Log Program

The Saddle/Driving Log Program is a way for you to earn recognition for the time you spend in the saddle on an Appaloosa or in the seat of a cart behind an Appaloosa. Whether you ride/drive out on the trail, train for competition, participate in parades, perform ranch work, or whatever your pleasure, those hours will count.

On an honor system, each rider/driver will keep his or her “saddle log time” (actual hours spent riding or driving). The riding/driving time is kept on a Saddle/Driving Log Program form provided by the AHAA. If you are keeping an ApHC Official Saddle Log, you may submit a photocopy of it rather than keeping two logs.

Open Competition Program

The Open Competition Program is for all AHAA members competing in any official open competition. For example; all-breed horse shows, cattle penning, 4-H shows; cutting horse events, open reining, open working cowhorse events, etc.

Trail Riding Distance Program

Applicants may log mileage from any sanctioned trail ride, endurance ride, competitive trail, club ride, ride and tie, orienteering, 4-H or benefit rides.
